two roads diverged in a yellow wood

Choices, they are everywhere.  Not only are they all around us, we have a multitude of choices for the most common of decisions and the most mundane of tasks.  Robert Frost must have known something of this when he penned the following words:

“I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-

Took the one lass travelled by

And that has made all the difference.”

Not only did Robert Frost describe the power of making the right choice, more importantly  Jesus  reminds us:

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

All of us worship something, or someone.  What we worship we become.  If we worship things, we become materialists.  If we worship ourselves, we become self-centered hedonists. Jesus said there is not room for two masters.  Divided loyalty is impossible.  It is even more impossible in the KIngdom of God.  You cannot remain neutral, you must make a choice.  Hear these words of Jesus:

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Put the first thing first!   We like choices, but a multitude of choices are of no help, if the basic and most important choice is not decided correctly.

We need to put Christ First, then everything else will get in proper order.  Have you decided to follow Jesus?  It is the choice, the changes everything.
